I had high hopes for Toyhouse because of all the buzz it gets in the creative community, but my experience has been really lackluster. First off, the website's layout is confusing and outdated. Navigating through it feels more like a chore than a fun creative activity. Features that should be straightforward and user-friendly end up being complicated and not intuitive at all. Uploading images, for instance, takes forever, and sometimes the images don't even display correctly. What's the point of a character repository site if you can't reliably upload or display your characters? Another major issue is the lack of customization options. For a website that's supposed to cater to artists and creative types, it offers very little in terms of personalizing your profile or characters pages. The limited options make all profiles look pretty much the same, which is boring and uninspiring. And let's talk about the community. While you can find some genuinely nice and talented people, the overall atmosphere is often toxic. The moderation team seems almost non-existent, or at least they are very slow to respond to issues. Art theft is rampant, and reporting it doesn't seem to have much effect. It's incredibly frustrating to see someone's hard work stolen and not have anything done about it. I also encountered several glitches on the site, including broken links, constant loading errors, and even complete site crashes. It's surprising that a website with such a large user base can be this unreliable. So, while Toyhouse may have potential and some nice features, it falls very short in execution. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you're willing to put up with a lot of frustration.
I recently used Toyhouse and wasn't very impressed. The interface is confusing and it took me a while to figure out how to upload my character designs. The loading times are also slow.😒 Overall, kind of disappointed.
