I thought OpenOffice was going to be an amazing free alternative to other office suites, but I was pretty disappointed. The installation was a pain. It took forever to download, and then when I finally got it installed, it didn't even open correctly the first few times. I had to restart my computer twice. Also, the interface looks like it hasn't been updated since the early 2000s. It's really not user-friendly and feels outdated. I had a lot of trouble formatting my documents. The tools are just not intuitive, and it took me way too long to figure out how to do basic things like change the font size or insert a table. The program also crashed several times while I was working on a big project, and I ended up losing a lot of my progress because it doesn't auto-save often enough. Compatibility with other file formats is another big issue. When I tried to open a .docx file, the formatting was all messed up. The images and tables were out of place, and the fonts were all wrong. It was a hassle to try to fix everything, and in the end, it didn't look right. Also, exporting documents to PDF didn't preserve the formatting quite right either. Customer support is also pretty much nonexistent. There's no live chat or phone number to call. You're stuck with trying to find answers in outdated forums or user manuals, which was not helpful at all. Plus, I couldn't find any recent updates or talk about future improvements, which makes me think they're not really committed to keeping the software relevant. Overall, I'm really unhappy with OpenOffice. It might be free, but the frustration and wasted time aren't worth it. I'd rather pay for software that works reliably and looks modern. This was honestly more trouble than it's worth.

I expected more from OpenOffice. The interface feels very outdated and clunky. Performance was also slow, especially when handling larger files. Some features didn’t work as expected 😞. Overall, disappointing experience.
