I've tried multiple home security systems, but Blink for Home fell quite short of my expectations. Installation was a nightmare, with unclear instructions and components that didn’t seem to match the steps outlined in the guide. Customer service wasn’t very helpful either; I got transferred between departments and still didn’t have my issue resolved for nearly a week. The camera quality is another major letdown. Despite their claims, the night vision is grainy and unclear, which defeats the purpose of having a security camera. The motion detection is unreliable, often alerting me to shifting shadows or even bugs but missing actual human movements. One of the cameras also kept disconnecting from the Wi-Fi, causing major gaps in security coverage. The app interface is another story altogether. It’s unintuitive, cluttered, and sometimes unresponsive. Trying to view live footage or recordings is more frustrating than useful, as the feed frequently lags or buffers. Notifications are inconsistent; sometimes I receive them minutes after the event, which isn’t very helpful if there’s a real emergency. Another annoying issue is the battery life. Blink promises extended battery life, but in my case, they drain faster than claimed even with minimal usage and optimal settings. Considering the high price point, the overall performance and the reliability of the Blink for Home system are well below par. Very disappointed with Blink cameras. They keep losing connection, and the app is super slow. Customer support wasn't helpful either.
